About the Director
Bruce H. Robinson,
Diplomate,
American Board of Surgery, Fellow and a member of the American College
of Surgeons, is a retired, board-certified general surgeon who has
practiced western medicine and surgery for 30 years. Serving as chief of
the department of surgery in two California hospitals, he has treated
over 85,000 patients during his years of practice. Always active in
teaching students, he has maintained a special interest in alternative
approaches to medical treatment, especially Chinese medicine.

Bruce
is the former president of AIMC Berkeley, one of the most successful
acupuncture colleges on the west coast, located in the San Francisco Bay
area. He is the author of two textbooks: Biomedicine: A
Textbook for Practitioners of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine,
Blue Poppy Press (2007), and Western Physical Exam Skills for
Practitioners of Asian Medicine, Blue Poppy Press (2009), both available at

Today,
Bruce serves
as an
educator, writer, and administrator, striving towards the integration of
Chinese medicine into the U.S. healthcare system as an equal partner. He
is the author of numerous articles about the integration of Oriental and
Western medicine, and he lectures around the country. He recently became
an adjunct faculty member of Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine.
